Iso & Weave (Indoors)

Structure

Iso is an alternative indoors strategy to vert stack. We set up with 2 handlers, the iso alone in the centre, and the other 2 players go straight to the end zone.

Iso

Step 1

This play is handler initiated. This means that the iso should not move until the disc is thrown. The thrower should float the disc into a space that the iso will get to before their defender.

Step 2

If we aren't close to the end zone yet, we set up another iso and exactly the same process is used.

Step 3

Once we are getting close to the end zone, we will initiate the "two in" end zone play, which you can see on this page.

Handler Weave

Step 1

If the handler is not confident in the iso throw, they should immediately look to the dump. As always with resets, if the throw to the dump is open, then it should be thrown

If not, the handler fakes at the dump and they cut up the line. Importantly, the iso should cut towards the far sideline at this point. This is crucial to stop the defender poaching off the iso.

Step 2

Next, just as in a vert stack reset, the iso should then cut back towards the dump space to make an option in case the throw up the line is marked out.

Step 3

If this swing is also marked out, our next option is to look back to the dump, who should now be bouncing across the pitch horizontally. This step is a really powerful option, but is often forgotten.
